Serving is at the heart of our faith in Jesus Christ. Make the most of Lent this year through worship, study, prayer, and service. Let us gather, grow, and give in Christ.

Lent worship schedule

Our theme for Lent this year is simple: SERVE. We will explore this theme through worship, prayer, Bible study, and, of course, service.

Here's how you can participate:

WORSHIP: Each week we will focus on an important theme of service.

BIBLE STUDY: Small groups are forming now. These will focus on Bible readings we will use in Wednesday worship.

SERVICE: We want everyone to serve AND to tell their stories of service. We will have tools on our website and a Service Station in our narthex where you can report your stories. Our goal is to have 4000 Stories of Service by the end of Lent.

PRAYER: Use this Lent devotional booklet as a tool for your Lent journey. Here's more information about how to use your Lent devotional.

Your Lent devotional booklet begins on Thursday, February 18, and continues in seven-day segments (Thursday through Wednesday).

Each seven-day segment focuses on one of five themes. A Bible reading, a brief reflection, and a prayer are included for each day except Sundays.

Each Sunday you have three assignments:

a) answer the question(s)

b) pray the table grace;

c) participate in the act of service listed for that week.

And... remember to tell the story of your service on the website or at our Service Station located in the narthex.

Studying the Bible in Small Groups during Lent: We Learn to Serve

Dozens of SOTV members have been hard at work to prepare and lead small group Bible studies during Lent. Groups will meet weekly and will focus on the Bible readings used for Wednesday worship:

Week 1: Philippians 2:1-11

Week 2: Esther 4:9-17

Week 3: 1 Corinthians 16:13-24

Week 4: 1 Corinthians 12:1-11

Week 5: Ruth 1:15-18

A small group is a great way to get connected with others at SOTV and to have a fun and interesting experience studying the Bible.

Small group facilitators have been trained and are waiting for you to join a group.
