9th Grade Confirmation

|
Many of you have now moved to high school, maybe with
your old friends, but maybe not. You've become the
little fish in the big pond again. Life feels different
now. You have more freedom, more responsibilities, and
more choices to make. Your view of the world is
expanding and you are aware of many more things than
ever before. Some of them are incredibly exciting. Some
of them can seem downright scary. You find the more you
see and the more you learn, the more questions you have… |
|
So you
don’t have all the answers—that’s OK—let’s
struggle together with the questions! 9th
grade confirmation is all about WWF, Wrasslin’
With Faith!
YOU choose the topics by sharing
with us your toughest questions about God, the
world, relationships, whatever. And then we wrassle. |

LARGE GROUP
On most Wednesdays, all of the
9th Graders gather in the Great Hall at 7:00pm where
Pastor Randy and
Katie Heilman (or a guest presenter)
introduce the question of the day using tools such
as movie clips, pictures, songs, and first-hand
experiences. Of course, the topics themselves are
guaranteed to be important and relevant because YOU
picked them! |
SMALL GROUP
You then break up
into small groups of eight students
and two 10th-12th
grade facilitators. The facilitators help
you to explore the issues raised in the large group
presentations and to assist you in connecting them
to your personal experience.

An opportunity to think about and articulate what it
is you believe and why—and what you struggle with or
doubt. We supply you with an outline to help the

9th Grade Facilitators |
|
|
Facilitators are a key part of
9th Grade confirmation.
They
work in pairs to lead discussions with small groups of
9th graders and help out in some of the large group
presentations as well. Being a facilitator is an
excellent way to share your knowledge, minister to your
peers, and grow in your faith at the same time!
Facilitators
discuss
faith and life issues with a small group of ninth
graders. The training you receive for this ministry is
both fun and valuable in all your relationships.
We
take this program seriously, and we are seeking high
school sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are prepared
to make a commitment
for
the
2008-09 school year.
