Guides

Guides are the
heart of youth ministry here at Shepherd of the
Valley. They are the adults who volunteer to spend about
an hour a week with 6-8 young people. It is
in their small groups that caring relationships are forged,
communities are created, and the lessons we teach in the
large group begin to move from head knowledge to heart
knowledge.
If you are an adult and have a student in
confirmation or you have a heart for youth in general,
please prayerfully consider being a guide for 6th, 7th,
or 8th Grade. Your time investment can have a life
changing impact on the lives of the teens in our
community. You don't have to have a degree in religious
studies to teach this stuff either. It is pretty easy! Each
week we supply you with the questions to lead your
small group with and (gasp) even the answers (if there
are answers...) For more information on being a
guide, please contact a youth staff person or
pastor.
