First Communion Now open to PK - Grade 5 This year we are expanding the opportunity for our youth to receive their First Communion at an earlier age. Previously, fifth grade was the usual time for children to learn and partake in this holy sacrament. Over the past several years, many of our children have demonstrated readiness at a much earlier age, seeking to join their parents, older siblings and the church community at the altar for Communion. We realize children will be ready at different times during their developmental years. Therefore, starting this fall, any child in Preschool up to and including Grade 5 are welcome to attend ONE of the following First Communion classes.
