Thursday Morning MOPS at SOTV

What is MOPS?

Thursday morning MOPS is a faith-based group of mothers who have children aged birth through Kindergarten.
Meetings start with a wonderful breakfast that each small group takes a turn hosting. A variety of enriching topics are discussed throughout the year.
Meetings also include outreach projects that benefit our community, crafts, guest speakers, and plenty of chat time within smaller table groups.
There are also social events outside the regular meeting times for moms to get together and have fun. MOPS is a wonderful respite from a busy and hectic life.

When is MOPS?
Meetings are bi-monthly on Thursdays 9:30 to 11:30 AM at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Apple Valley. The MOPS year begins September 15, 2011, and ends in May.

What is MOPPETS?

Moms can fully relax and enjoy themselves in MOPS meetings knowing that their children are well cared for in our MOPPETS programs. Children are grouped into rooms according to age.
While in MOPPETS, children play, do faith-based activities, and have a snack. Children remain in the same room all year, so they are able to make friends and get to know their teachers well.
Our teachers are paid staff that have been background checked by the church and they work hard to provide a wonderful, caring and nurturing environment for our children.

The 2011-2012 MOPS theme is MomSense: Bold ž Loving ž Sensible
Developing a mothering strategy is somewhat like playing a game — and next year’s theme is appropriately game related. Have fun being a mom! Playing games involves being bold and taking risks, loving those in the game with us and being sensible while figuring out what works and what doesn’t.

Our Steering Team is already hard at work preparing for another fabulous year. We will start accepting registration forms for the 2011-2012 year starting May 13, 2011. We will accept forms on a first come first served basis. There has been a lot of interest in the group so it's best to send in your forms early!

How much does MOPS cost?

All moms pay a yearly MOPS International fee which is $23.95. Included in your MOPS membership is:

SOTV has once again graciously blessed our group with a grant to help cover nursery and KidCare costs for our meetings. Because of this financial help, SOTV MOPS moms only pay a $50/semester fee which breaks down to just $6.25/meeting! This money helps cover speaker fees, outreach projects and other general meeting expenses. Semester fees are collected in September and January.
