What is MOPS?
Thursday morning MOPS is a faith-based group of mothers who have children aged birth thru kindergarten.

Meetings start with a wonderful breakfast that each small group takes a turn hosting. A variety of enriching topics are discussed throughout the year.

Meetings also include outreach projects that benefit our community, crafts, guest speakers, and plenty of chat time within smaller table groups.

There are also social events outside the regular meeting times for moms to get together and have fun. MOPS is a wonderful respite from a busy and hectic life.

When is MOPS?
Meetings are bi-monthly on Thursdays 9:30 to 11:30 AM, September through April at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Apple Valley. The first meeting for the 2008-09 year will be on September 11, 2008.

What is MOPPETS?
Moms can fully relax and enjoy themselves in MOPS meetings knowing that their children are well cared for in our MOPPETS programs. Children are grouped into rooms according to age.

While in MOPPETS, children play, do faith-based activities, and have a snack. Children remain in the same room all year, so they are able to make friends and get to know their teachers well.

Our teachers are paid staff that have been background checked by the church and they work hard to provide a wonderful, caring and nurturing environment for our children.

How much does MOPS cost?
All moms need to pay a once a year fee of $23.95 to MOPS International.  As part of your MOPS International registration, you will receive The Mommy Diaries: Finding Yourself in the Daily Adventure (the 2008-09 theme book), six issues of MomSense magazine, and a weekly email magazine. 

The SOTV MOPS registration fees, which help pay for the MOPPETS programs and activity supplies, are as follows:

0 Children in MOPPETS: $35*
1 Child in MOPPETS: $65*
2 Children in MOPPETS: $75*
3 or More Children in MOPPETS: $85*

Some financial assistance is available, please inquire if you are in need of a scholarship.

*The SOTV MOPS fees above are per semester. The first semester runs from September-December and the second semester runs from January-April.  The MOPS International fee is a once a year fee.

What’s up for MOPS in 2008-2009?
During the 2008-2009 year our MOPS topic is Adventures in Mothering. The theme verse is Ephesians 3:18: “…how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.” Our hope is for each of us to discover that God is with us during the ups and downs of parenthood. God provides us with the hope we need to get through this wonderful and challenging season of life. A variety of fun activities are planned around this theme for this upcoming year. We hope you will join us.
