What is MOPS?

Thursday morning MOPS is a faith-based group of mothers who have children aged birth through Kindergarten.
Meetings start with a wonderful breakfast that each small group takes a turn hosting. A variety of enriching topics are discussed throughout the year.
Meetings also include outreach projects that benefit our community, crafts, guest speakers, and plenty of chat time within smaller table groups.
There are also social events outside the regular meeting times for moms to get together and have fun. MOPS is a wonderful respite from a busy and hectic life.

When is MOPS?
Meetings are bi-monthly on Thursdays 9:30 to 11:30 AM at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Apple Valley. The MOPS year begins September 23, 2010 and ends on May 12, 2011.

What is MOPPETS?

Moms can fully relax and enjoy themselves in MOPS meetings knowing that their children are well cared for in our MOPPETS programs. Children are grouped into rooms according to age.
While in MOPPETS, children play, do faith-based activities, and have a snack. Children remain in the same room all year, so they are able to make friends and get to know their teachers well.
Our teachers are paid staff that have been background checked by the church and they work hard to provide a wonderful, caring and nurturing environment for our children.

The 2010-2011 theme for MOPS is Momology: The Art and Science of Mothering
Even there your hand will guide me; your right hand will hold me fast. (Psalm 139:10) Mothering is so complex it requires both sides of our brain. There's the scientific side to mothering: coming up with strategies, testing those strategies and then adjusting what we will do next time based on the results. Intertwined with the scientific, mothering is also an art. We approach mothering with a unique set of skills, gifts and experiences. This year, we will learn from and share with each other, while growing our skills as mothers -- and as children of God. Hope you will join us!

How much does MOPS cost?
The new fee is $23.95 (paid once a year to MOPS international) plus $25/semester for meeting fees-- regardless of number of children who attend.

All moms need to pay $25 per semester. This includes registration and:

*The SOTV MOPS fees above are per semester. The first semester runs from September-December and the second semester runs from January-May. The MOPS International fee is a once a year fee.
