Shepherd of the Valley is delighted to host an evening with ministry partner LSS Refugee Services of Minnesota to create greater understanding of the needs of refugees fleeing from persecution and beginning new lives in the United States.
We will enjoy a delicious Somali dinner of salad, rice, and sambusas (pastries stuffed with meat or vegetables) and hear inspiring stories from LSS staff about the courageous journeys of refugees who have made their way to safety.
- 5:30 pm: Informal Social time with East African Chai tea.
- 6:00 pm: Opening remarks from Yusuf Abdi, Program Director, LSS Refugee Services
- 6:30 pm: Dinner
- 7:00 - 8:00 pm: Following dinner we will hear from Fatuma Elmi, LSS employment counselor, and Cate Anderson, LSS Volunteer coordinator, and have time for Q&A.
