Our Response to God’s Love
Everything about us belongs to God. When we give of our time, talent, and treasure, for the sake of others, God rejoices. Our generosity is an expression of our gratitude to God. When we give, we grow in our faith and trust in God’s abundance. Thank you for your generous gifts!

Four Easy Ways to Give
Why Give?
When we give to God together as a church family, we can do more than we ever could alone.
Where to Give
You can support our mission through the General Fund, Capital Fund, Endowment Fund, and special designations.
Pledge Your Support
Challenge yourself to consider how God's love frees you to respond by living generously.
Giving Statements
Charitable contribution tax statements are mailed out in January to those who have contributed monetarily to Shepherd of the Valley in the prior calendar year.
Thank you for your generous support of our ministry!
Why Give
When we give to God together as a church family, we can do more than we ever could alone. When we do God’s work together, we change lives in our community and the world around us. Your gifts of God’s abundance to Shepherd of the Valley support:
Our Vision—to invite all people to experience the Welcome, Transformation, and Sending of Jesus Christ.
Our Mission—to discover, grow, and live into our individual relationships with Jesus Christ, through four core ministries:
Worship, Learn, Connect, and Care.
Where to Give
General Fund: Provides for a strong operational base, and supports ministries in our church and in our local and global community.
Capital Fund: Supports our monthly mortgage, facility improvements, and priorities established in our Capital Campaign (debt reduction and special
facility and outreach projects).
Endowment Fund: Supports Shepherd of the Valley's mission in perpetuity using earned income on fund investment.
Designated Giving: Supports a particular ministry of the church, to honor a ministry area or specific church needs.
How to Give
Bill Pay
This option creates no fees for the church, and allows your bank to send a check to the church from your account. Work with your bank to determine an amount and frequency that work for you.
Simply Giving/Electronic Giving
You can make one-time or recurring donations through a secure donation site using your checking or savings account, or your debit or credit card. Click here to enroll online and self-manage your giving plan, or fill out a paper authorization form and submit it to the Finance Office. Recurring giving schedules may be set up on a monthly or semi-monthly basis, and you may change recurring donations at any time. Please note the church pays a small fee to provide electronic transfer and credit/debit card processing.
Stock Gifts
The IRS allows the direct transfer of stock to the church, and allows the donor to deduct the value of the stock on the day you gave it to the church as a donation on your tax return. You do not have to report the gain in value of your stock as income, and the church can sell the stock with no tax consequences. The process of transferring stock is very easy and you can download the instructions to learn more. Please contact our Finance Office before you begin any paperwork to initiate a transfer, or sign your stock certificates. Beth Karlson, our Financial Manager is available at 952.432.6351 or by email.
Cash, Checks, and Envelopes
If you give on a regular basis with cash or personal checks, please consider using an envelope that has a number assigned to your name. To receive envelopes, contact the Finance Office.
Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)
For individuals aged 70 ½ or older, you can direct all or a portion of your RMDs (required minimum distributions) from your individual retirement accounts to the church tax free.
Planned Giving
You can support our ministry directly or through a bequest, IRA or retirement benefit plan, life insurance, stocks, bonds, or other assets.
