“I saw God at Wapo”

My first summer as counselor at Camp Wapo just ended and it had to be the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Camp is such a special place filled with such special people. It’s so surrounded by God’s presence, words can barely describe it. I don’t think I’ve ever felt stronger in my faith and felt the way God works in our lives more.

Adults Needed for Disaster Relief Trip

Adults and youth (16 & older) are invited to join the Rebuild Team or Camp Noah Team traveling July 23-30, 2016 to a community affected disaster. Teams from SOTV traveled together to Joplin, MO in 2012 and Gifford, IL in 2014, communities both devastated by tornadoes.

Because we go to wherever the need is greatest, we pick the dates long before knowing the destination. Stay tuned for this summer’s location!

The teams, united in purpose, are divided to work on two different projects: Rebuild and Camp Noah. The Rebuild Team’s work will depend on the community’s needs. Past groups worked on constructing new houses and removing debris. The Camp Noah Team will operate a summer camp for children impacted by the trauma of disaster (Camp Noah is a program of Lutheran Social Services of MN).

Adult leaders are needed, although adults may simply come and participate too! As an added perk, the cost for adults to attend is waived. Questions? Download a Summer Immersion booklet or contact Erin Swenson-Hatzung at 952-985-7367 or erin.swenson-hatzung@sotv.org.
