Many people call SOTV their “home away from home” but not everyone knows what goes on inside our walls each week. Here’s a quick look at the past week alone.

Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017:

  • A large gathering of “Mothers of Preschoolers” (MOPS) meets several times a month.
  • Volunteers sorted food and served clients at the Food Shelf.
  • 47 members gathered for a Raggamuffin Gospel study.
  • Handbell rehearsals.

Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017:

  • A group of 15 Friendly Visitors met for training in the morning.
  • Following 5:00 pm worship, 112 people gathered for music and fellowship at the Annual Coffee House.
  • Meanwhile, 60 students and parents packed meals at Feed My Starving Children in Eagan.

Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017:

  • In worship, we wished Pastor Maggie Farewell and Godspeed.
  • Weekend attendance was 1,390.
  • Sunday night about 255 people attended Family Movie Night to watch Finding Dory or Secret Life of Pets.
  • Also in the building there were several Adult Education classes, Confirmation Small Groups, and a Brass Ensemble rehearsal.

Monday, Jan. 30, 2017:

  • There was a standing room only crowd for a panel discussion on Homelessness in Dakota County, about 225 people.
  • Elsewhere in the building, 25 people had a “Meet and Greet” with Pastor Rick.

Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017:

  • Quilters met for their weekly meeting crafting quilts for charity.
  • 78 units of blood were collected at our Winter Blood Drive to benefit 234 individuals.
  • Volunteers sorted food and served clients at the Food Shelf.
  • Tuesday is Support night, when many support groups meet.
  • The St. Paul Chamber Orchestra held a concert in our sanctuary.

Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017:

  • Wednesday nights at church are always full of activity!
  • Families eating pizza dinner, Confirmation and Zone 45 small groups, and choir rehearsals for all ages. This week was a Confirmation Parent Night for Grades 6-8.

Every weekday, Mon-Thu we have Celebrating Children Preschool!

Every day: Staff and volunteers are working hard behind the scenes to make our many ministries happen. A big thank you to our Facilities Staff who set up tables and chairs, clear snow and ice, and make sure the facility is safe.
