News on a Stick! (2016)

(2016)

In honor of the State Fair (and because there’s a lot of little tidbits to share), here’s some bite-sized updates from around the church. No deep frying necessary!

Ready for School!

Thanks to our generous donors and volunteers, nearly 14,000 school supplies will be gifted to local children in need, including 303 filled backpacks! Over 12 schools and nonprofits will receive school supplies from SOTV including Falcon Ridge MS, Woodland Hills Elementary, The Link, MOMS, Lincoln Place, LSS Refugee Services, and more. We had a trememdous turnout of volunteers to pack supplies – a total of 40 people including scouts from Troop 293 and American Heritage Girls Troop 200. This year’s Golf, Gears and Gutters for the Good (Sep. 25) will help raise funds for next year’s drive.

Sunday Breakfasts

The return of Sunday Breakfasts are dependent upon a fully staffed Kitchen and Hospitality structure of paid staff and volunteers.  We are working hard to fill the staff positions of Kitchen Coordinator and Kitchen Assistant. Both Staff and Volunteer roles are key to the success of the breakfast and fellowship ministries. Please view the full job descriptions on our Employment page and spread the word to qualified candidates. Once we are adequately staffed, we will resume Sunday Breakfast and the schedule will be communicated. Thank you for your patience!

Block Party in Three Weeks!

All are invited to on Saturday, September 17 to join us for free food, fun games, and live music. An outdoor worship service will begin at 5pm. Help us spread the word on Facebook!

Saturday Worship Survey

As we consider Saturday options this fall, we’d like to learn what you think. Please take a moment to answer a few brief questions. Thank you for your time!

The deadline for travel applications and deposits is October 15, 2016. More information on Tanzania
