We’re mid-way through the Capital Campaign. Look at all we’ve accomplished together!

Although people started pledging and contributing over the course of a year, we can now safely say we are halfway through the Capital Campaign. Because of your dedication and generosity, we already have some major accomplishments to be excited about! Here is what we’ve done together toward our three goal areas of debt reduction, facilities, and outreach:

  • Significantly reduced our debt.
We have lowered our debt from $4,288,469 in November of 2015 to $2,716,871 in March of 2018. We continue to reduce the number of payments needed, and now 2/3 of our monthly payments go to principal. We are getting excited about the increased impact we can have in our church, our community, and the world when we are debt free!
  • Built a school in Mpalapande, Tanzania.
We donated $50,450 so that children can now attend school in their home village, rather than walking four miles one way to the nearest school.
  • Repaired and resurfaced the parking lot.
We addressed problem areas in our parking lot, making it safer for pedestrians and vehicles.
  • Made our facility more secure.
We installed secure access controls at our entrances, which better protects our preschoolers, staff, volunteers, and other visitors during the week.
  • Purchased mattresses for people in Dakota County experiencing homelessness.
Besides other support and initiatives to address homelessness in our county, the Capital Campaign enabled us to purchase mattresses for all who sought shelter in rotating facilities this winter.

And more accomplishments are coming soon!

Besides continuing to allocate 80% of monthly Capital Campaign contributions toward debt reduction, we are preparing for two more facilities and outreach initiatives:

  • Updating our sanctuary.
After 20 years of use, we have carpet buckling and worn pew cushions in the sanctuary. We’re planning to reupholster the pews, order new chairs, replace the carpeting, and paint in the sanctuary. The updates should be done this summer.
  • Expand the Rosemount 360s Communities building.
We partner with 360 Communities to offer a food shelf in our facility, serving over 1,000 families every year. By helping to update and expand their small Rosemount facility, we can increase storage and service capacity, feeding more of the hungry in our community.

Together we are achieving the goals of the Capital Campaign. To learn how you can participate, visit sotv.org/give. Thank you for your generous support!
