Worship Schedule

stories matter

During the season of Lent, our worship series will be “Stories Matter.” Stories certainly mattered to Jesus. He used parables to reveal the amazing nature of God’s work in the world and stories about Jesus inform and guide our faith. We all have stories, too. God’s story and our stories matter. You are invited to walk with Jesus in Luke’s Gospel toward Jerusalem and learn why stories matter and what they teach us.

February 16-17: “Your Neighbor’s Story Matters”

February 23-24: “God’s Story Isn’t Over”

March 2-3: “Everybody’s Story Matters”

March 9-10: “What Matters After The Story is Told”

March 16-17: “Your Story Can Change”

“This is Most Certainly True” explores the five primary parts of Luther’s Small Catechism with music, a reflection by one of the pastors, and a faith practice associated with the theme of the day:
February 20: Holy Baptism
February 27: The Sacrament of the Altar
March 6: The Ten Commandments
March 13: The Lord’s Prayer
March 20: Apostles’ Creed

Tell Your Truth - Jot it or Tweet it!
All throughout Lent

Each time we worship during Lent we will pose the question:

What is one thing that is most certainly true…
From today’s story?
From today’s worship?
Or from your life today?

Everyone is invited (even children in GodZone) to jot it down on a post-it note and stick it on the atrium wall. You can also tweet your truth on Twitter, just include the phrase #SOTVtruth. Whatever your truth, we hope you will share it with us. Stories matter… especially yours! Follow us on twitter @SOTVchurch.
