In-Person and Online (see below)
As Shepherd of the Valley, we say that we are “Centered in the love of God in Jesus” and that everything else flows from there. What does ‘centered’ mean and how do we get there?
Tending to those questions, Pastor Rob has already introduced the book Being With God (AJ Sherrill, 2021) as a resource for church council, call committee, and staff members to guide their work. This summer, you are invited to join the conversation as well! Grab a copy of the book and find a way to connect with others in person or online and see where it takes you.
Here’s how you can participate:
In-Person Discussions
Centering Prayer – Thursday mornings from 8:30-9:30 am in the Chapel
Join others for a brief devotion, twenty minutes of Centering Prayer, personal check-ins, and a discussion based on the book.
Form Your Own Group
Find friends from church, family members, neighbors, or others who may benefit from this study/practice and form your own circle for conversation and support.
Online
Look for regular posts on SOTV’s Facebook and Instagram accounts with a Thought, Question, and Practice inspired by the book each week. Comment, Like, and Share from there.
