SOTV is part of an initiative to serve people experiencing homelessness in Dakota County. Matrix Housing Services operates an emergency shelter at different churches from November through April, and has many volunteer opportunities. 

For SOTV scheduled dinners:

• Volunteers are needed to bring a portion of the meal, serve it to the shelter guests, and then spend a little time getting to know the guests. A leader from SOTV will guide volunteers during the dinner.

Additional help is needed at the shelter

• Sign-up your own group to serve a meal at the shelter
• Be a shelter aid; mandatory training before shift sign-up
• Help move the shelter
• Donate shelter supplies; view the list of needed items
• Sign-up for laundry squad
• Offer financial support
