Join the Empty Nesters for a bike ride on the Nine Mile Creek Trail starting in Hopkins. We will meet at 2:30 pm at Hopkins Valley Park.

It is 8 miles to France Avenue—and 16 miles round trip to the parking lot. But you can bike as near or far as you please. (The trail is 15.3 miles long.) Following the bike ride, we will meet in the parking lot at 5:00 pm and head to Pub 819 for dinner. 

If you choose not to bike, you can join us for dinner; registration is still required so we know numbers for the reservation.

There is no cost for this event except for the cost of dinner.

“Sometimes, the journey is the reward. That definitely is the case with the Nine Mile Creek Regional Trail as it meanders past its namesake creek, as well as the wetlands and woodlands of the Edina area. The trail takes you across more than a mile of wooden boardwalk and several miles of paved trail connecting Hopkins and the Minnesota River Bluffs Regional Trail with the cities of Edina, Minnetonka and Richfield.” 15.3 miles | Paved

Vineyard Event

Please join the Empty Nesters for our annual vineyard event.  This year, we will be gathering at Vintage Escapes Winery & Vineyard in Kilkenny, MN (about 30-40 minutes from Apple Valley). 

A few suggestions from Vintage Escapes:

• Food is available for purchase but they ask for patience with food orders. They have a very small kitchen that can prepare 1-2 orders at a time, and all plates are “made-to-order”.
• Ordering wine by the bottle to be passed around is more cost effective and time efficient than individual glasses or flights.
• Bringing our own chairs is suggested since there will be live music and we usually have a large group for this event.
