Leadership Team Members Needed

Council and leadership teams generally meet once per month (on Zoom or in-person), and the commitment is general a three year term. We actively encourage our lay members to be involved in the governance of the church. For some areas, specific expertise and/or related experience is needed. In other areas, a passion for the ministry is desired. If you are interested in joining any of the below groups, please complete an application at sotv.org/teams and email it to nominations@sotv.org.

  • Benevolence Leadership Team: Directs the giving of financial resources to our ministry partners locally, nationally, and around the world.
  • Endowment Leadership Team: Administers assets received into the Endowment Fund through bequests, estates, insurance; makes grants of funds with the purpose of serving the mission of SOTV; and educates church members about the opportunity to create their legacy through the Endowment Fund.
  • Engagement/Stewardship Leadership Team: This team is responsible for developing holistic discipleship plans, including assessment of need and interest, thematic development, marketing and communications, and assistance with related events.
  • Equity Leadership Team: This team will guide and support Shepherd of the Valley’s focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion in existing ministries, connection with surrounding communities, and general welcome and engagement.
  • Finance Leadership Team: Ensures that the generous gifts the congregation receives are used in the most faithful and efficient way possible.
  • Human Resources Leadership Team: Advises on personnel policies, staff structures, and budgeting.
