Pack Food with the Sheridan Story

Help students who need food support on weekends

SOTV has a partnership with Falcon Ridge Middle School and Sheridan Story helping to supply kids with food for the weekends. We provide volunteers and finances toward this effort. We are waiting to hear what the volunteer schedule will be for the 2020-21 school year, with hybrid learning. Typically, volunteers go to the school on Fridays and put food in kids’ lockers. The time commitment is around 2 hours and the timing can be flexible. If you are interested in learning more, please contact Sue Wisherd at suewisherd@yahoo.com.

The Sheridan Story provides a range of food to meet different cultural dietary preferences. All their food bags are 4-5 pounds and contain approximately four meals of nutritious, non-perishable food. These bags including a variety of fruits, vegetables, proteins, grains, and soups/entrees. Adults and kids age 8+ can help pack food bags during a Sheridan Story packing event at the warehouse in Roseville; sign-up to volunteer.
