Andrew Morrisette’s school, Diamond Path Elementary, had an optional assignment in May 2020 to do something to help your community. He chose to decorate a round basket and ask the neighborhood/passersby for food donations to help the SOTV Food Shelf. The basket sat on the front lawn from Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon. He ended up with an overwhelming response of 41 items! This was truly a learning experience for an 8-year-old, and it made him feel good that he was able to collect so many items and help people that do not have enough money to be able to buy food. SOTV thanks you, Andrew! This wonderful idea helped many people in our community — you are a superstar!
