Zone 45

Christian Education for Grade 4 - Grade 5

Zone 45 is our fun, creative, and interactive Christian education program/Sunday School that runs during the school year. All children in grades 4-5 are invited. New students are welcome to join at any time throughout the year

Zone 45 utilizes a highly relational large and small group model to nurture children in faith and community. Senior High youth and adults volunteer their time as “Crew Leaders” to help lead our children as they build a rock-solid faith in Jesus. To ensure a quality program, we:

  • Utilize our talented staff to create or enhance curriculum
  • Train our volunteers and offer ongoing support
  • Complete background checks on all adult volunteers
  • Supply age-appropriate bibles for all participants
  • Incorporate music, crafts, prayer, and service to reinforce the biblical message

We hope you will join us! We charge $60 per student for the school year, but don’t want money to be an obstacle. We provide grants to support your children’s faith formation. Complete the registration form, listing the grant amount needed in the space provided.

We intend to take photos and/or video during Zone 45, which may appear in worship, social media, website, or congregational communication without names listed. If you have a concern about this, please email Kelsey Young.

If the registration you are hoping to participate in is currently listed as “Sold Out” – PLEASE either:

  • register on the waitlist and indicate your preferred program and hour.
  • OR register for your second choice, and send an email to Heidi Beranek to be added on the wait list for your first choice.

Most programs are recruiting additional volunteers at all hours and will open spaces to the waitlist as soon as possible!

If you are interested in volunteering, please register here.

Because our groups are led by amazing volunteers, we limit the number of students per group and groups per hour for the safety and enjoyment of all in our programs. Occasionally, a program hour may reach capacity and additional spaces cannot be opened. In this event, we will contact any families remaining on the waitlist for that hour to move them to an additional program time.

Volunteers of all ages and abilities make it possible to host HUNDREDS of students throughout the school year at SOTV! We’d love to have you join this amazing team and experience the joy of working together, sharing your faith, or giving a gift of your time, skills, or talents.

Any children interested in music groups, please consider registering for a Children’s Choir or a Children’s Handbell Choir. For more information, and to register follow the links below.

Children in grades 4-5 begin gaining a more personal understanding and relationship with the Bible while experiencing how they are part of God’s amazing story. In fourth grade, students are gifted the Deep Blue Bible and learn the tools they need to use and understand the Bible better. Zone 45 students engage in their faith together in the following ways…

Daily Large Group Time

  • Open ended questions
  • Music and musical guests
  • Fun skits and Bible story presentations
  • Creative, unique, playful prayer
  • Meaningful statements of faith
  • Build skills to navigate the Bible

Small Group Time

  • Building relationships
  • Bible reading and reflection
  • Caring conversations
  • Crafts
  • Learn new skills to help them throughout life

Grades 4 – 5 Zone 45 Hours: Wednesdays at 4:30 pm, 5:45 pm, or 7:00 pm.

We encourage families to volunteer in worship at least once a year: usher, greet, musician, lector, or hospitality

We encourage and welcome all parents and high school students that are interested in walking alongside young people in their faith journey to be a small group leader. Small group leaders will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary for success and are supported throughout the year. If you are interested in joining us on the journey of faith – learning, growing, and laughing – then sign up to volunteer!

We make the volunteer experience easy and give you everything you need to lead a group of 6-8 students in fun and meaningful discussion.

Families are invited and encouraged to deepen their participation in their faith community by volunteering once a year (or more!) as a greeter, usher, etc.
