Fellowship, service, and outreach

We have many social and service opportunities, either as one-time events or ongoing groups. Learn more about groups you can join, or ways to serve in worship, at church, in the community, or through global partnerships.

SOTV uses Realm as our web-based database and ministry tool from ACS Technologies to inform our staff and connect our congregation. All of our data is safely stored and backed up in the cloud, making it available 24/7 from anywhere using a desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile phone. You can also find groups to join through Realm, update your contact information, and connect with others. Log in and learn more about Realm.

SOTV has one-time and on-going volunteering opportunities. Whether you’re available just 15 minutes, can help once per week or month, or want to spend two weeks abroad, we have opportunities for you in worship, the church, the community, and globally. Use your spiritual gifts to serve God and your neighbor.

Whatever you’re facing, you don’t need to face it alone. Find comfort from others who understand your challenges and can walk along with you.

SOTV has many support groups that focus on topics like divorce, grief and loss, depression, cancer, infertility, and addiction. Besides these support groups, our care staff can guide you to other resources. Stop by the Care Office next to the Welcome Center to learn more.

SOTV has an in-house food shelf that partners with 360 Communities. The food shelf is entirely dependent on donations of non-perishable food and monetary donations to purchase produce and other groceries. Please put all donations in paper grocery bags (preferably with handles), and drop off at SOTV when the building is open. Click to learn about how to get helpvolunteer, and give. You will see the most-needed items for the month, and recent news from the food shelf.

SOTV has monthly collections that support those in our community. Collections vary from school supplies, to hygiene items, and winter clothing. Read about this month’s collection.

You’re invited to a new member class to learn about the history and vision of Shepherd of the Valley, what membership means, and how you can find meaningful ways to be involved in our community of faith. Classes are offered three to four times per year. Click here to learn more and see the upcoming class schedule.
