Through video, scripture, art and more, allow yourself to enter into Holy Week and the striking contrasts it brings: Jesus entering Jerusalem surrounded by shouts of glory, only to be left alone to die on the cross, abandoned by even his closest friends. As we stand with the disciples in solemn darkness at the foot of the cross, we grieve — and we cling to the hopeful promise that Easter will dawn.

Share: What were your high and low points today?
Read: “…the Son of Man must be handed over to sinners, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.” (Luke 24:7)
Reflect: Holy week takes us on an emotional roller coaster. When you go through something very sad or difficult, what gives you hope?
Pray: “Dear God, help us let ourselves feel all the feelings of Holy Week — the lowest of lows and the greatest of joys. Amen.”
Bless: Trace a cross on each other’s shoulder, hand, or head and say “[Name], you are a beloved child of God.”
