What to Expect
Wear your favorite rainbow shirt and join us in celebrating Pride Month! There will be free frozen treats, coloring pages & crafts, merchandise, and informational resources available.
Besides this special weekend, we're celebrating Pride all month long. Stop by the story wall in the narthex to read information on the history of Pride in the United States.
What it is: Pride Month is a June-long celebration that honors the 1969 Stonewall Uprising, a series of protests in New York City that became a turning point for the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement.
Why it Matters
Shepherd of the Valley is dedicated to living out Christ’s message of compassion and acceptance for everyone. We strive to be a church where all are welcomed and invited, inclusive of age, ethnicity, race, ability, faith background, gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation.
In alignment with that goal, Shepherd of the Valley partners with ReconcilingWorks. Since 1974, ReconcilingWorks: Lutherans for Full Participation has advocated for the full welcome, inclusion, and equity of LGBTQIA+ Lutherans in all aspects of the life of their church, congregations, and community.
Get Involved
Meet us there: On Sunday, June 28 at noon, you can also join us for Pride Worship at Saint Mark's Episcopal Cathedral next to Loring Park.
