What to Expect

Calling all 4th and 5th graders! This is a 4 day camp that are jam-packed with fun activities! Through awesome science experiments, fun games, outdoor adventures, connecting conversations, creative crafts and more friendship building activities we will dive into the Gospels, explore the Good News and see what it means to be a disciple of Christ.

Thursday = Double the Fun! Thursday, the final day of our camp, has two field trips - and adjusted hours to accommodate these trips!! First, in the morning we head over to Lakeville’s Recycling Facilities to learn about their tools and how we can contribute to caring for God’s creation through green initiatives like recycling. Second, we head over to Lebanon Hills for lunch, a brief walk to visit the goat herds who tend to the land and participate in a wildlife preservation project! The adjusted hours for Thursday are 9am to 4pm, drop off and pick up are both at Shepherd of the Valley.  

Some key things to bring for Thursday’s field trip:  

Closed toed shoes and socks  Comfortable clothing (fast drying, breathable, avoid white t shirts)   A bagged lunch (snacks are provided, lunch is not!)  A beach towel and swimming clothes (there is a beach at Lebanon Hills)   A backpack to hold all your child’s items (they will need to carry this themselves so avoid overpacking)   SUNSCREEN (our policy at SOTV does not allow for staff members to apply sunscreen. Apply before coming to camp and bring a spray bottle for your child to reapply during our day)  Water Bottles (water stations are available, however please bring your own water for on the trails!)   Non-screen/ electronic toys for the bus ride (roughly a 25 minute bus ride)

The registration fee is $65. We don’t want the cost to keep anyone from participating in mini camp -- financial support is available and can be selected when you register. 

Shepherd of the Valley is committed to welcoming people of all abilities and working to understand and meet the needs of our congregation. We may not be able to meet all requests at this time.
