About the Speaker

Brandon Newton served in youth ministry for 10 years (including five years at Shepherd of the Valley) before completing his Master of Divinity degree from Wartburg Theological Seminary. He served as a pastor for eight years at Easter Lutheran Church (Eagan, MN) before completing a yearlong chaplain residency at the University of Minnesota Medical Center. Brandon currently serves as a chaplain at the Minnesota Veterans Home-Minneapolis, a 300-resident 24/7 skilled nursing care facility. He is an ordained pastor and federal chaplain for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), volunteer on-call chaplain for the Eagan Police Department, a certified grief support specialist from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) through the Association of Professional Chaplains.
