Registration will close 48 hours before the event so the kitchen can prepare for the volunteers. 

What to Expect

Open Arms of Minnesota is a nonprofit organization that prepares and delivers nourishing, medically tailored meals free of charge to critically ill Minnesotans and their loved ones. Their work is made possible by a loving volunteer community.

This volunteer opportunity is open to everyone! We will prepare, portion, and package food for medically tailored meals - no culinary skills necessary! Youth age 8 and older are eligible to volunteer. 

Upcoming 2026 dates: 5/15,  6/12,  7/17,  8/21,  9/18,  10/16,  11/20,  12/18.  

When serving, long pants or skirts, and closed-toed shoes are required. No shorts or sandals. 

If you are a returning volunteer to Open Arms, follow these steps:

1. Click on the button above to register for an upcoming date
2. Log in to VolunteerHub
3. Click "Events" and scroll down to our group's event, STP Shepherd of the Valley Group Kitchen Shift, and click sign up
4. All good to go!

If you are a new volunteer to Open Arms, follow these steps:

1. Click on the button above to register for an upcoming date
2. Click "Create Account" in the upper right corner
3. When prompted, enter the "JOIN CODE": ShepherdOA25
4. Once you've created your account, click "Events" and scroll down to our group's event, STP Shepherd of the Valley Group Kitchen Shift and sign up
5. You will be prompted to acknowledge our safety and liability waiver
6. Scroll to the bottom and check the box to acknowledge you read and understand the waiver
7. Click "FINISH" and you're all set!
